Board
Yes, we are actively seeking board members!
Current Board members
Amy Likover, President
I love this neighborhood! It has great people, beautiful architecture, shady streets, a lovely park and a fantastic community spirit. Gerstle Park renters, homeowners and business people, please join our active neighborhood association that is committed to improve our quality of life. We have all kinds of fun events and a great working relationship with the City of San Rafael, local businesses, cultural institutions and Marin County. Plus what a perfect location! We’re just a short walk from interesting and historic downtown San Rafael (with our beautiful weather) and a short walk from our scenic hiking trails in the Open Spaces.
Gina and her husband have lived in Gerstle Park since 2004. In addition to working full-time in San Francisco, Gina co-manages her family’s 8 unit apartment building located in the neighborhood. Because of that, Gina brings a unique perspective to the Board. She has always appreciated what our neighborhood association has accomplished, including being an important information-sharing tool, giving our concerns a “voice” with the City of San Rafael in hopes of effecting positive change, and sponsoring events that give neighbors fun occasions to meet & mingle. Her goals for the neighborhood include seeing the City establish ordinances limiting the amount of Sober Living Facilities in Gerstle Park, working to create solutions to parking and traffic issues affecting the neighborhood, and helping promote events which allow neighbors to come together and share their common pride in this great neighborhood.
An arts management consultant, Cindi works with non-profit performing arts organizations of various sizes and in diverse communities throughout California and across the United States. Cindi has expertise supporting Boards of Directors and committees, senior management, staff and community leaders in organizational and business development, human resources and team building, strategic and financial planning, project management, marketing, fundraising, contract and labor negotiations and education initiatives. She has been actively involved in Gerstle Park and a member of the GPNA since moving here in 2004. Dedicated to ensuring a continued good quality of life for all residents in the Gerstle Park Neighborhood, Cindi supports the GPNA’s efforts to create a friendly neighborhood and safe City. She hopes through her active participation on the Board to encourage the participation of other neighbors as well.
Hugo Landecker, Open space, planning process
Hugo and his wife have lived in Gerstle Park since 1968 and have participated in community affairs ever since. Hugo was instrumental in organizing the Gerstle Park Neighborhood Association in 1971. He served on its Board of Directors, helped draw up the bylaws and then a neighborhood plan. A three time past GPNA President and current head of GPNA Open Space Committee and the GPNA Committee for project review. Hugo also serves on the Federation of San Rafael Neighborhoods Steering Committee. He established and coordinates the San Rafael Heritage for Historic Preservation. Hugo wants the GPNA to develop a neighborhood plan based upon a 2004 draft to better plan for the future of our neighborhood and to make Gerstle Park a better place to live.
